2018 World Blockchain Summit to be held in Nairobi in March

On March 22-23 March, Nairobi will host a large conference dedicated to blockchain – a technology which is an open, distributed ledger that can record transactions between two parties efficiently.

The World Blockchain Summit in Nairobi promises to be one of the largest and most important international technology meetings ever held in the country. The event will bring together global blockchain experts and technology players including upcoming startups – with the world’s top business, regulators & IT leaders.

Blockchain technology has been defined as a game changer in transforming how supply chains operate, making the systems accurate and transparent. Although this technology caught the attention of many of the world’s largest financial institutions, use cases still remain in the experimental phase.

This conference will explore and strategise on how to ensure large-scale adoption of this groundbreaking technology. The summit comes at a time when the Kenyan government announced it will soon use blockchain to record ownership and transfer details at the ministry of lands in order to weed out land brokers & grabbers.
At the same time, industry gurus including awarding winning investor Marco Robinson have confirmed attendance. Marco is the founder of UK’s Naked Technologies, the world’s first asset backed cryptocurrency powered by Patented Blockchain Technology.

Others who have confirmed their presence include Tunji Durodola, a blockchain expert and also serves as a technical consultant/Systems Integrator National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) of Nigeria. Fabian Bartnick, the VP at LodgIQ; a revenue management technology provider dedicated to advancing machine learning and AI to deliver intelligent market insights.
