Lykke launches trading API for the Lykke Exchange
Lykke, a Swiss FinTech company building a global marketplace on the blockchain, is pleased to announce the beta launch of a full-featured trading API for the Lykke Exchange.
Through the trading API, third-party software can easily interact with Lykke’s trading platform. Applications can conduct trades through the API with much of the same functionality as the Lykke Wallet mobile app. The API supports popular programming languages such as Java, C#, and Python. To transfer the money between the Trading Wallet and the API Wallet a Web interface is available.
Lykke anticipates that algorithmic trading will be one of the most popular use cases for the API.
“Ever since the Lykke Exchange opened for trading, we have been working hard to provide external access through an application programming interface,” said Lykke CTO Mihail Nikulin. “We’re pleased to make good on this effort. The trading API gives our trading community a new set of opportunities to explore.”
While trading through the Lykke Wallet remains free of charge, trading through the Lykke Exchange API is subject to a flexible fee structure.
“Charging reasonable, volume-based fees for API trading will help to increase the available liquidity in the order book for our Lykke Wallet users,” explained Nikulin. “Looking forward, we hope to enter into long-term partnerships with market makers and improve the services that we provide for them.”
During the beta phase of the Lykke trading API rollout, no trading fees will be assessed. In addition, authorized trading API beta testers will earn reduced fees for the first month of live release.
