Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) with dual cameras, Oppo A83 with fullscreen display go on sale today in India
In addition to the OnePlus 5T Lava Red going on sale today, two more smartphones went up for sale – Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) and the Oppo A83, priced at Rs 32,990 and Rs 13,990 respectively. The Galaxy A8+ (2018) is exclusive to Amazon India, while the Oppo A83 will be available on Amazon and Flipkart as well as offline retail stores starting today.
Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) is available an exchange discount of up to Rs 15,402. In addition to that, if you pay using Amazon Pay balance, then you can avail 10 percent cashback of up to Rs 200 per customer. HDFC card holders are also eligible for 10 percent instant discount. No cost EMIs are available on Bajaj Finserv EMI card and all major credit cards.
In terms of specifications, the Samsung Galaxy A8+ (2018) features a 6-inch Super AMOLED display with full HD+ resolution of 1080 2220 pixels. It is equipped with an octa-core chipset paired with 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. On the camera front, the Galaxy A8+ (2018) features dual cameras at the back which includes a combination of 16-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor. Up front, there’s a 16-megapixel camera. It runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G LTE, GPS and NFC.
The Oppo A83, on the other hand, is a budget smartphone and was first launched in China last month. It follows the design language of the Oppo F5 and Oppo F5 Youth with bezel-less display. However, what differentiates it from other offerings is that it is available across online and offline retail channels. It is available in Champagne Gold and Black color choices. On Amazon, the Oppo A83 is available with up to Rs 10,206 in exchange discount. Credit card and Amazon Pay offers are applicable as well.
As for specifications, the Oppo A83 sports a 5.7-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution of 1440×720 pixels. It is equipped with an octa-core MediaTek 6763T SoC clocked at 2.5GHz coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card slot.

On the camera front, it features a 13-megapixel rear camera capable of taking multiple shots to recreate a 50-megapixel image in Ultra-HD mode. The rear camera uses a f/2.2 lens and is aided by a dedicated LED flash. The smartphone also features an 8-megapixel selfie camera with support for AI-based beautification mode that was launched alongside Oppo F5.
There’s also a face unlock feature that uses the front camera to unlock the device by detecting the face of the user. It s not as secure as a pass code, but will be useful since the smartphone lacks a fingerprint sensor. The Oppo A83 runs ColorOS 3.2 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. It is fueled by a 3,090mAh battery.
