AirPod ICO Review

Their primary focus is to place AirPods at the airports. In the research that was conducted at the Dubai airport in the span of one year, they have discovered that 67% of all passengers are transit travelers and that more than 5,5% million people are waiting for their transfer flight for over 3 hours.

Another interesting survey was done on the website sleepinginairports.net where they asked their visitors if they would consider paying to use a sleeping pod. Almost 55% answered that they would, and 38% said that it would depend on the airport and cost. This means that there is an actual demand and market for the product.

AirPod capsule will be equipped with all necessary technology that user may need. Amazon Fire TV, WiFi, anti-stress programs, air condition and electrical outlets are just some among many. Pods will also have a screen with information about the flight, so you won't have to worry about anything. They require only around 5,22m2 for installation, so they can be placed anywhere in the airport.

Booking will be possible via the internet or mobile app in advance or on the spot if any of them will be available. With the app, users will find the nearest AirPod at the airport, rent and use it, see the statistic of a specific capsule and even propose a new location.

APOD Token
AirPod system will be powered by APOD token, but renting a unit will also be possible with the credit card, so they won't be limited only to token holders.

AirPod plans to offer a public ICO (initial coin offering) that will feature up to 200 million APOD tokens at a price of $0.10 each. The tokens will be sold in two phases; pre-sale and crowdsale. The investors will be allowed to buy APOD tokens using Ethereum. The ICO's soft cap is set at $2.7 million and hard cap is at $20 million.

Idea
The idea for AirPod was born around two years ago, in a conversation between the two friends Grega Mrgole and Mihael Meolic, while they were waiting at the airport. Soon after that, they discovered their idea has a lot of potential so they gathered a team and started working.

The team consists of 20 experienced people from different backgrounds and spheres.

Roadmap
Manufacturing of the AirPod capsules will start in the Q2 2018, and the first commercial test is scheduled for Q3 2018. They are planning to place 10 AirPods in the UK airports. After that, the expansion will follow with the goal of 1000 placed units in 2021.
