Michigan To Have Legalization of Cannabis For All Uses On The 2018 November Ballot

On December 4, 2008 the MICHIGAN MEDICAL MARIHUANA ACT became law. Now barring any legal or procedural challenges, Michigan will be another of the few States who's citizens were able to get "Marijuana/Cannabis" for all uses on the November ballot for the citizens to decide on.

If the "Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act" as it is known by passes, Michigan would join the list of the few states where, under State Law, Industrial Hemp, Medical Cannabis and Recreational use would be legal under State Statutes. If it passes we guarantee that a fight will be on in the State Legislature over drafting and passing of the regulations they are required to formulate under the proposal.

The proposal would allow for generous possession limits of recreational marijuana compared to what's allowed in other states, and would impose some of the lowest tax rates on recreational marijuana in the country.

Tax revenue would be used to cover administration of the program and $20 million annually to research the use of marijuana in treating U.S. military veterans and preventing veteran suicide for at least two years until 2022. As States continue to chip away at ending prohibition, this again provides no protection from the Federal Government on enforcement of Federal Laws including the restriction of your 2nd Amendment rights.
