The first breath of creation - Theories of evolution from Eastern Part of the world

Much has been said and talked about Evolution but the entire debate on evolution is focused only on Western philosophies. Here in the series of articles I will try to bring in some perspective from Eastern Philosophies which I feel have been ignored or missed in the entire debate, probably because Eastern part of the world was under the domination of the Crown when the discussion around Evolution were ignited by Charles Darwin and his theory "Survival for the fittest".

In this series of articles, I will touch upon various aspects starting from Big Bang to Start of life on Earth and development of culture and social norms in this world.

Part 1 - OM - The sound of the universe. the first breath of creation

Om is called the primordial sound, creation is said to have begun with this sound, the Echo of the universe and Vibration of very existence.

This Creation came into being when Hiranyagarbha (Cosmic Egg) broke open by a Big Bang Brahmanda Visphotak. OM is the sound that accompanied the BANG of the Universal Explosion, OM is the first breath of the universe.

This sound of the Big Bang or Brahmanda Visphotak has been reverberating and echoing back and forth since then through the universe till date and shall continue to reverberate till the Maha Pralaya (dissolution of the universe).

Om is a sacred sound and a spiritual icon not only in Hindu religion but also in Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism. In Bible too, it is said, ‘In the beginning there was a word and the word was with God and the word was God’. There they don't say which word, the word is OM.

The OM Frequency - 136.1 Hz
136.1 Hz is a frequency that resonates with the Earth and has been associated with light, warmth and joy. Various scientific studies have found that the frequency of Om is exactly the same as the frequency of earth’s rotation around its own axis. So, in some sense, earth is saying Om.

The first reference of OM is millenniums old

The symbol OM is first mentioned in the Mandukya Upanishad, part of Atharveda that was composed in 1000 BC. The Mandukya Upanishad opens by declaring, "Om!, this syllable is this whole world". In this scripture, OM is built on a structure of "four fourths" or "fourfold", derived from A + U + M + "silence" (without element):

1. AUM as all states of Time: Past, Present, Future and The four fourth of time is that which transcends time.
2. AUM as all states of Atman (Soul)
3. AUM as all states of Consciousness: Waking, dream, deep sleep and the state of super consciousness (non element)
4. Aum as all of Etymological knowledge: Obtaining, Exaltation or Intermediateness, Constructing, and beyond the expanse of universe.

Significance of OM in our life cycle
OM is composed of three base notes - Ahh - OO - MM. Ahh as a sound comes from Lower part of the Body (Stomach), Ooo comes from middle part of the body (Lungs) and Mm comes from upper part of the body (Mouth), thus repeating or saying OM aligns your mind and body with the universe, before birth we were part of that sound and after death we will merge with that sound.
