If you find this ‘blue dragon’ sea slug floating around in the oceans, don’t dare to touch it
Most people hate slugs because of their appearance. These slimy creatures are also considered pests that destroy moist, shady gardens. But not all slugs are ugly. Apart from the yellow and green blobs that we know, there’s a unique species of slugs that is truly captivating.
The blue dragon sea slug, scientifically known as Glaucus atlanticus, is not only visually attractive but is also a rare species that can boast of its one-of-a-kind ability!
Biologically speaking, blue dragon slugs belong to the Nudibranch family. This is a group of soft-bodied mollusks, just like the snails that we commonly see in the soil.
Although they look bizarre, as if they have come from an alien land, these creatures are 100 percent Earth-bred. But two things set them apart from the rest: these slugs are a lot more colorful, and more often than not, they are poisonous.
