Exchange Binance opened a Bank account in Malta
The largest bitcoin exchange in terms of trading volume, Binance opened a Bank account in Malta. In an interview with Cointelegraph announced founder and CEO Binance, Chanpen Joao.
This brings the exchange one step closer to its plan to launch Fiat-cryptocurrency deposits on its platform with the possibility to withdraw funds. It is also expected that the presence of a Bank account in Malta will increase the liquidity of the exchange and facilitate the entry of new investors.
Chanpen jao called the opening a new Bank account "very significant" step with exchange first announced plans to transfer its headquarters to Malta.
According to the head of Binance, he hoped that mixed fiato-cryptocurrency trading starts on Binance "during the year". The exchange plans to offer this service in Uganda and potentially in Asia. The company is also negotiating with the Malta stock exchange on possible future cooperation.
Chanpen Jiao also noted that Malta is one of the best places for blockchain-companies, which due to its favorable tax and regulatory climate, gaining a reputation as a safe haven for cryptocurrency projects. Recalling that only in March, several dozen blockchain companies moved to this jurisdiction, he highly appreciated the "very hospitable and reasonable" position of local regulators with regard to the crypto-currency industry.
Speaking of the fictitious "Paradise cryptocurrency Islands", the founder of Binance denied "outlandish and fantastic" rumors that the exchange bought a private island, which is going to turn into a micro-state with a wide use of blockchain.
"Conceptually, it's definitely possible, but it's not. This is an easy option, and the creation of the company is already quite difficult," said Jiao, Chanpen.
He also noted that Binance is working on the creation of a decentralized exchange, calling this project "high priority".
Earlier, the exchange Binance announced plans to launch a Fund to support companies in the field of blockchain and digital currencies. Funds for the Fund will come from the company's own reserves and will be allocated gradually.
