Shoes
This photo is of my shoes. While barefoot walking can help to a point, our bodies rarely have naturally proper posture, and so walking without support can cause issues to develop. Because of this, it is important to wear supportive shoes or use orthotic inserts to improve your posture.
Shoes Keep Your Feet Safe From Injury
Another way wearing shoes helps is that they can keep your feet safe from injuries. While we love to imagine our favorite walking trails or tracks a clean, we know that they’re not. Sure, you will be able to walk on the grass and other softer ground, but you do not know what people have thrown in the grass. There are always rocks, but there can also be glass, sharp objects, and other items that can cause injury. If this happens, the germs we encountered in point one could cause an infection in the open wound. Wearing shoes protects you from this and makes sure your feet stay healthy and safe.
You Have a Better Grip on Things
Depending on where you are and what shoes you are wearing, they can provide you with a better grip on things. If you are hiking, wearing shoes can help you grab onto rock and terrain much easier and if you are walking on ice, wearing the right shoes can also help you walk easier. There are several different shoe types for different activities, and it is always wise to purchase them to keep your feet and yourself safe.
Shoes Can Correct Your Posture
Many barefoot advocates will claim that running without shoes is better for your posture, and when you compare it to running with a pair of generic sneakers you pick up from a store, it could be argued that they make a valid point.
When you wear the right shoes, such as a pair of athletic orthotics, you can help your posture out in wonderful ways. While barefoot walking can help to a point, our bodies rarely have naturally proper posture, and so walking without support can cause issues to develop.
Because of this, it is important to wear supportive shoes or use orthotic inserts to improve your posture. Orthotic shoes help align your feet, ankles, knees, hips, and back, which helps reduce any pain you may have and can correct many issues.
