Cypto Exchanges: Kraken or Coinbase?

in #cryptos9 years ago

I signed up for Coinbase right away. I tried another site that demanded my social security number [!!!] and bank information. No way! Kraken looks interesting to me because I want to get into ripple. That's really on my buy list now.

"Founded in 2011, Kraken is the largest Bitcoin exchange in euro volume and liquidity and is a partner in the first cryptocurrency bank. Kraken lets you buy and sell bitcoins and trade between bitcoins and euros, US Dollars, Canadian Dollars, British Pounds and Japanese Yen. It’s also possible to trade digital currencies other than Bitcoin like Ethereum, Monero, Ethereum Classic, Augur REP tokens, ICONOMI, Zcash, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Ripple and Stellar/Lumens. For more experienced users, Kraken offers margin trading and a host of other trading features. Kraken is a great choice for more experienced traders.
Pros: Good reputation, decent exchange rates, low transaction fees, minimal deposit fees, feature rich, great user support, secure, supported worldwide.
Cons: Limited payment methods, not suitable for beginners, unintuitive user interface."
Is Kraken reliable?

Sort:

I really like gemini.com So much more reliable than Coinbase.

If you need to trade BTC/USD. Gemini is the way to go.

If you need to trade altcoins to BTC. bittrex.com is the way to go.

Also blocktrades.us is reliable. You pay a higher fee for the convience however.

Btw, anytime you touch USD you will have to complete AML/KYC. Nature of the beast.

haven't heard of gemini thanks for the heads up

Kraken slso has KYC requirements. I've used Kraken to sell BTC for some other random cryptos. It worked well enough, though there are transfer limits depending on how much info you give up in the name of KYC-know your customer laws.
BTW: Checkout http://dtube.video Esp. If the YT purges reach PineGrove33.

never heard of dtube, cool thanks, could find no info on it.
just looked up KYC, it came from the patriot act lol what a joke

Dtube: Just launched. Fully distributed video site built on steem blockchain and IPFS. Much to like.
Yes, my country has similar KYC requirements on its exchanges.

man i'm listening to you i'm using dtube in the future

Cross post for now. Hedge your bets.
