It's Caturday...on Friday...(Meow)

in #caturday8 years ago (edited)

Since so many people knock 'cat picture' posts here on steemit...I love to post them... :~)  So, here's another one for people like me who LOVE cats, and think of them as special creatures. I'd rather see posts about cats than I would about 'How to Boil Peas...) but, that's just my opinion...you're entitled to your own.

The "Black Plaque" which killed so many people centuries ago could have been reduced by increasing the cat population. Instead, they killed cats thinking that the cats were responsible for the disease...In truth, it was the over abundance of 'rats' which added to the problem.

Interestingly, the fate of mankind was curiously linked to that of the common house cat. When the cat populations rose, the pandemic ebbed, and when the cat population plummeted, the black plague made a resurgence. Why?

Because 'cats' ate the 'rats'...along with the infected fleas infesting them. Less fleas...less disease carrying little creatures to bite 'you'
