Travel with me, Lampuuk Beach Banda Aceh
Lampuuk Beach is one of the prima donna of Aceh Besar tourism before the tsunami of 2004. The beach is always crowded with visitors, both from Banda Aceh, Melaboh, or other areas. With white sand and shady pine trees, it is an ideal place to relieve fatigue.
At the time of the tsunami, the beach, which is approximately 15 kilometers from Banda Aceh, was among those who suffered severe damage. The beachfront hotels and the surrounding settlements were crushed by huge waves.
More than half of the Lampuuk population died in the disaster. Trauma against the threat of tsunami makes people reluctant to come to this beach, in addition to the many pine trees that fell and the debris of the rest of the tsunami. This could make this beach closed for tourism activities.
However, the coast gradually recovered. Approximately a year after the tsunami, tourism activity on this beach was again crowded. In the post-tsunami rehabilitation and reconstruction process, the management of Lampuuk Beach is integrated with several other attractions in Aceh, such as Pulau Weh, Danau Laut Tawar, and Takengon Plateau.
This has a positive effect on the effort to restore the image of Lampuuk Beach as the prima donna of Aceh tourism. Not only local tourists, the number of NGO activists and foreign volunteers who stop for beach trips, especially surfing, also helped boost the popularity of this beach. Currently, Lampuuk Beach tour can be said to have recovered as before the tsunami.
There are four passes through which visitors can travel to different beaches, namely Babah Satu, Babah Dua, Babah Tiga, and Babah Four. Each entrance is named in sequence according to its position, from the southernmost to the northernmost.
The path that many local visitors pass is generally Babah Satu and Babah Dua. Foreign tourists usually come from Babah Tiga. This location is usually used for surfing activities or simply relaxing to enjoy summer vacation.
Along with the improvements made, this beach has been equipped with various tourism facilities, such as banana boat. For visitors who want to spend the night, there are also various lodging from the class of guesthouse to the cottage that the rates are varied in accordance with the services and facilities desired.
In addition, on the beach, visitors who want to fill the stomach can also easily find seafood stalls seafood menu. These kiosks offer a variety of grilled fish dishes, such as rambe, grouper, pomfret, prawns, squid, and others. This delicious grilled seafood is suitable to be enjoyed as a meal when hanging out with family or friends. Fully equipped with fresh young coconut ice.
Another activity that can be done when visiting this beach is to visit turtle conservation. Located in Babah Dua, turtle conservation can be an educational vehicle for children about environmental preservation.
Although the mass activity surrounding turtle conservation is only done at certain times, visitors can find a number of hatchlings or turtles that are accommodated in a small pond on one side of this area. These turtles will be released into the sea when they are considered to be enough to survive in the wild.
ENJOYING the sun on the white sandy beaches, surfing the blue sea waves, and waiting for the sunset elegance can not only be enjoyed in Bali. Aceh has Lampuuk Beach which has all the advantages of it. The beach is located in the District of Lhoknga, Aceh Besar, overlooking the Indian Ocean.
Location Lampuuk Beach precisely in the western region of Aceh, about 15 kilometers from Banda Aceh. The condition of the road to where it is pretty good so it makes it easier for tourists. There is no public transportation there so travelers should use private vehicles.
Lampuuk beach has a coastline about 5 kilometers long. This beach is soft white sandy nan, sea water is turquoise, and the waves are friendly to the surfers. On the mainland there are lush pine trees and further a row of green mountains.
