The Best of Cebu Philippines: Introducing Basilica Minore Del Santo Nino
The country's oldest Roman Catholic Church, It dates back to Magellan's time and is said to be miraculous. Every year, the image is the centrepiece of Cebu's largest annual event, the Sinulog Festival.
“Mercy and Passion” are the tenets of Basilica del Santo Nino, founded in 1565, which still bring many locals here to worship on a daily basis.
Have a walk through the church halls to see ancient paintings, gorgeous archways, stained glass windows, and overall, a piece of architecture that is awe-inspiring.
Located at the heart of downtown Cebu, the Basilica is a house of prayer and pilgrimage to hundreds of thousands of people each year.
