Great Lessons Animals Teach
Great Lessons Animals Teach!
Every day you see animals, some you admire, some you despise, others you dread. Yet there are great lessons this creatures can teach you. Here are some:
Lyrebird. Lyrebird males spend much of their time trying to attract mates by mimicking the sounds of not only 20 other bird species, but also man-made sounds like car alarms and chainsaws ! This unique trait, along with their 28-inch long tail feathers, makes them adept at wooing the ladies.
Lesson. It is easier to reach a person's heart with his or her own language. People with a common language bond easily.
Addax Antelope. The female addax antelope gives herself a new mane whenever the seasons change. She's white in the summer to reflect the heat of the sun and turns grayish-brown in the winter to help herself stay warm.
Lesson. There's a time to be white and a time not to, a time to be 'fancy' and a time not to, and so on. Take necessary steps to adapt to the conditions you find yourself.
Kangaroo rat. The Kangaroo Rat lives in the desert of North America, in areas that have very little rainfall. They have survive in the climate by getting all the moisture they need from plants and seeds that they eat.
Lesson. Make the most out of what you can get. Be frugal.
Opossum. The opossum has the ability to play dead when under attack, but he is not vulnerable to venom. In their bodies is a peptide that neutralizes snake venom. You see why snakes are usually part of their diet?
Lesson. If you must play dead or blind, first protect yourself. Have a defense plan and mechanism.
Whales and Dolphins. While sleeping, these ocean mammals only shut down about half of their brain activity , so they regain energy and rest while also literally leaving one eye open to watch their surroundings. Try sneaking up on them.
Lesson. Amidst possible dangers, be cautious and alert. Like they say, "sleep with an eye open". If that seems impossible, at least take protective measures before you sleep.
Well then, you'd agree with me that animals have great lessons to teach us. So take your time to observe these creatures and learn from them.
