The Problem Of Steemit + Potential Solution

Since steemit is still in a beta, it still needs improvement with things such as the overall hardfork (payouts, spam protectant, etc.). Steemit is still not totally refined yet, although its heading the correct direction as of now. But recently, we have hit over 300k users on steemit. Which keep in mind, are mostly spammy bots and new people who are spamming like crazy.

And keep in mind, a lot of these spammy people or people who make the spammy bots are from other countries, hints the reason why when you get a spammy comment it is in broken english that sounds like it came straight outta google translate...which isn't a good thing because one, they are spamming, and two, they can't read the steemit etiquette posts on steemit on what to do and what not to do.

So we are getting more and more spammy people and bots from other countries (which is to be expected because this is an international platform), and we are also getting more and more regular people joining as well. And since steemit isn't completely refined, it is easy to have the rewards pool and delegation pool unbalanced among the 300k people on this platform. And yes, many people have quit steemit or lost faith as well, but there are still way too many people joining to where it could hurt us. The people are making the steemit pool smaller and smaller.

And this wouldn't be a problem if steemit was more refined and balanced. It could be a good thing when steemit becomes more official, I guess, but for now, it's not good at all. Another thing that doesn't help as well is that all of these new people are making so many posts and are flooding steemit. Now, since there are so many people, even if you follow 50 people you like, you can't read all of their posts anymore because they are buried and flooded. the only way to truly catch up with what they are posting is to personally go to their profile and see whats up.

Here's my proposal:

Until steemit becomes more cleaned up and official, in order to join, it should cost money or be invite only. this will weed out a lot of spamming people and scammers as well. It will make the community smaller and less flooded as well, this is just a temporary patch until steemit becomes more refined and has a balanced eco system.
