Red Mercury: Real or Hoax?
Red Mercury is considered a non-existent material and is an artificial myth that was introduced in the 1980s, although it is still a vague opaque substance and its composition is uncertain, many believe of its existence and usability. It is famous for the widespread claims that it is used in the manufacture of many advanced weapons.
Mercury is a mineral element in nature, a silver colored element, when other chemical compounds are added to it, produces a group of mercury compounds, such as mercury oxide.
It is known that mercury oxidation becomes a color other than the known natural color, it turns red, and the substance becomes extremely toxic, harmful to the human body. When red mercury is placed on a heat source, the smoke rises in blue form, which was used by charlatans, magicians and sorcerers to influence their audiences. Red mercury is not mercury oxide. The only similarity is the reddish color.
In the Eighties Red Mercury came to existence through a fake leak of russian military documents, and quickly turned into the scam of the century. Russian mafia started marketing a red powdered material which was nothing but some compounds mixed with red food coloring to countries or groups interested in obtaining this supposedly radioactive material necessary for the manufacturing of nuclear bombs and advanced weaponry. Many fell victim to this hoax and a pound of this useless powder was sold as high as one million dollars.
The Russian mafia was very creative in marketing these compounds, by putting them in containers marked with the radioactive symbol or containers that seem to resemble military products.
Regardless if it exists or not, what do we know about it?
Red Mercury has two types:
Natural Red Mercury: this kind that has been the source of a lot of rumors and formulated rumors, but most denied it and denied its existence. This type is believed to be made up of some vital tissues and organic matter. Some claimed this natural product was used by the early egyptians to mummify their dead kings. The material is also rumored to be more stable than the chemical counterpart. No traces of Red Mercury were ever found in mummies according to Dr. Zahi Hawwas, former Egyptian head of the Ministry of State for Antiquities.
Chemical Red Mercury: It is a type manufactured in factories, where it is extracted from gold after exposure to radiation for a certain period. With a density of 23 grams per cubic centimeter, so that red mercury is the highest density of materials known on the surface of the globe, and includes within this context all pure minerals as well. This type is made in Russia, a red crystalline powder, which can be used in nuclear processes that rely on nuclear fission, and is therefore used in the manufacture of energy and nuclear bombs with high intensity . This is one of the most expensive materials in the world, the price of one pound approached one million dollars on the black market, it is illegally smuggled from Russian nuclear reactors.
Red mercury uses:
Russian scientists had found important uses of Red Mercury, like the manufacture of tiny nuclear bombs, which can be transported in handbags, has a very powerful effect, as it can exterminate the inhabitants of a whole city like New York within a few minutes, with little to no effect on buildings.
Manufacture of a super radar.
Manufacture of guided warheads.
Manufacture of high precision electric valves for conventional bombs.
Manufacture of high-precision electrical valves for nuclear bombs.
