The Lesson of Unity
Once there was an old man who had three sons. They always argued and fought with one another. The old man was worried because he knew that a family without unity could never be happy or strong. One day, he called his sons and brought three sticks. He tied the sticks together into a tight bundle and asked them to break it. Each son tried with all his strength, but none of them could break the bundle. Then the old man untied the sticks and handed one stick to each son. They broke the single sticks easily. The old man smiled and said, “This is the power of unity. If you stay together, no one can defeat you. But if you remain divided, you will become weak.” The sons realized their mistake, stopped fighting, and promised to live together in peace and harmony forever.
