Hi Everyone,

As we approach Round 10 here are this weeks list of Fantasy Relevant injuries for each club.

Adelaide:

The Crows are still the walking wounded but continue to get the job done on the field most weeks which is a credit to the clubs depth.

There looks to be some injury relief this week for the Crows with Matt Crouch, Milera and Luke Brown listed as tests.

Mitch Mcgovern (ankle), Brad Crouch (groin) are still long term outs and Sloane is listed as 3-4 weeks away with that troublesome foot.

Captain Tex Walker is apparently doing a mini preseason over the next 3 to 4 weeks to get his body right and his fitness up.

I think this is a smart move for the Crows as a fit and firing Tex in the 2nd half of the year is a must if they are to make another Grand Final.

Brisbane Lions:

All smiles at the Lions this week as they are fresh of their first win of the season over the Hawks and they are having a blessed run with injuries.

Nothing to report on the injury front for the Lions.

Carlton:

In a huge blow for Carlton it seems that their skipper Marc Murphy disrupted some scare tissue in his foot in his return game and is almost a certainty to miss this week.

No time listed as yet but I suspect that foot will need a rest over the next 2-3 weeks.

Charlie Curnow is listed as a test after being a late withdrawal last week due to a Quad injury.

I have never known a player to recover from any type of quad strain, tear or tightness in only a week as it is usually a troublesome slow healing injury.

I would say this is a real worry unless it was just a slow to heal corkie in the quad?

If that is the case then you would think he will definitely play this week.

His Brother Ed Curnow will be back as he returns from his one week suspension for umpire contact.

Ed has been a beast of fantasy scorer this year so this will please a lot of owners.

Marchbank's ankle injury continues to linger and he is listed as 1-2 weeks away while big Levi Casboult is still 2-3 weeks away with that rib/lung injury.

Collingwood:

The Pies wretched run with injuries continued on the weekend with poor old Fasolo hurt again.

Playing his first game for the year and finally breaking back into the seniors, he damages his ankle which could rob him of his whole rest of the season.

You almost couldn't blame Fasolo or Collingwood if they just call it day soon.

In better news Reid and Maynard are listed as tests for this week so could be back.

As for the repeat hamstring victims - Moore, Elliott and Josh Smith, the Pies have cracked the sads and are not even listing a time of return now, lol.

All 3 have TBC next to them.

Lastly an interesting bit of news came through today and that is Buckley is choosing to rest Wells this week?

Precautionary and part of the plan he says. Why would you rest a guy that is two weeks back and just regaining fitness?

Surely get some continuity into him first for at least a month and then maybe rest him for an interstate trip or something?

Or he has suffered a minor injury or tightness at training and the Pies are completely full of crap.
I lean to the latter.

Essendon:

What a form turnaround by the Bombers last weekend when they smashed Geelong!

Not many saw that coming and news gets better with the possible return of number 1 Draft Pick Mcgrath who is listed as a test for this week.

Hurley is also listed as a test but the mail is the Bombers are very unlikely to risk him.

Myers could also return from that hip injury.

Daniher is still listed as 3-4 weeks away with that groin injury.

Fremantle:

Stephen Hill is a chance to return this week from his troublesome quad injury and will inject a bit of run into the team.

Key Defender Hamling is listed as a test for this week.

Back up Ruckman Darcy is only 3 weeks away and he is one to keep an eye out for.

He has proven to be a decent fantasy scorer in the past and if anything happens to Sandilands (which is more likely than unlikely) Darcy will be straight in.

Taberner is still indefinite with that foot injury and so is Brad Hill who is suffering from that ACL that Freo are in denial about.

Geelong:

A lot of fitness tests at Geelong this week with tackling machines Scott Selwood, much improved midfielder Parfitt and cash cows Fogarty & Constable all a chance.

Guthrie is still listed as 3-4 weeks away with that ankle injury.

Henderson is still indefinte and the Cats are not putting a time frame on Menzels return either at this stage.

Gold Coast:

The Suns have the bye this week on the back of the China trip so will be able to freshen up.

The big news will be the return of star forward Tom Lynch who is expected back after the bye.

Handy back pocket Joyce will also return after the bye but Rosa is listed as TBC with his hamstring injury.

Midfielder Fiorini is getting closer to a return from his leg injury and only 2-3 weeks away now.

The Irishman Hanley is still listed as 8 weeks off with that dislocated shoulder.

GWS Giants:

The Giants season is fast being derailed by injuries and their Top 4 hopes are slowly slipping away.

If they keep losing both matches and players at the rate they are now, the Top 8 chance might slip away also.

The latest victim is De Boer who has done a hamstring and will miss at least 2 weeks.

The reliable role player Sam Reid also has hamstring tightness and is listed as a test.

All eyes will be on star midfielder Josh Kelly who faces a fitness test on that troublesome groin injury this week.

If he can not only return to the field but be moving at his %100 best, than that will paper over a lot of cracks for GWS.

Skipper Phil Davis should also be recovered from that nasty concussion and should strengthen the back line this week.

Deledio is slowly recovering from his hamstring strain and is only expected to miss 1 more match.

Speaking of slow healing Toby Greene is still 3 weeks away with that foot injury and boy does that GWS forward line desperately need him back.

Scully is still 7-8 weeks away with that broken ankle.

Hawthorn:

The Hawks desperately need a win this week after their loss to the bottom placed Lions but they face a tough assignment against top of the ladder West Coast.

The Hawks will be desperately hoping to regain Jaeger this week against the Eagles hard running midfield and he is expected to be ok to play.

Importantly, the Hawks will also be hoping key defender Frawley passes his fitness test as he will be needed against the Eagles big forward duo of Kennedy and Darling.

The only other 2 injuries of note right now are to Cyril who will miss another 3 with his medial ligament strain and Birchall who is now just 4 weeks away.

Melbourne:

All looking good for the Demons with no best 22 or Fantasy relevant injuries to report.

The only one of slight note is Weideman who will miss one more with a calf injury.

North Melbourne:

The Kangaroos are another team who are having a great run with injuries this year.

Barring Vickers-Willis who will miss the season no fantasy relevant injuries to report.

Port Adelaide:

The Powers injury list is starting to shrink with the only players on there of note Hamish Hartlett and Todd Marshall.

Hartlett is of course out for the year after doing his ACL and Marshall is on personal leave after a death in the family.

No return date set for him as yet.

Richmond

The reigning premiers are also enjoying a nice run with injuries this year.

Dion Prestia is nearing a return from a Calf injury and will only miss 1 more match.

Small Forward Bolton is listed as a test for this week but will likely play VFL.

Jack Riewoldt is listed as a test also with Bruising to the Lung.

Sounds nasty but he is expected to push through the pain and run out for Tigers this weekend.

St Kilda:

The season has sadly slipped away from the Saints now and they would just about be in play the kids mode.

Constant injuries to best 22 players has not helped the Saints cause this year but at least Paddy McCartin is a chance to return this week from his latest Concussion.

Important key defender Carlisle is also listed as a test and should return from his concussion also.

Bad news for Acres and Gilbert this week.

Acres has a nasty groin injury and is now listed as 4-6 weeks out.

He is no guarantee to return this season and is in the same boat as Brad Crouch from Adelaide.

Saints are waiting to see if rest calms the injury down and if it doesn't, surgery will be required which will end his year.

Gilbert has a nasty thumb injury and will miss 5-6 weeks.

Josh Bruce is getting closer and is now listed as just 3 weeks away.

Sydney:

With Buddy & Hannebery pulling up well from their return last week, the Swans are suddenly looking ok on the injury front.

Full Back Melican is listed as a test and could return this week.

After that barring Reid who is a long term out, all the other injuries are just to their depth players who normally play NEAFL.

Expect to see a stronger and tougher Swans team in the 2nd half of the season.

West Coast

The Eagles are top of the ladder and flying at the moment.

They do have a couple of important players facing fitness tests this week in Yeo and Shuey.

Yeo copped a knock on his knee whilst Shuey has missed the last few weeks with a hamstring strain.

Ruck/Forward Vardy and Cash Cow Petruccelle are also listed as tests for this week but will likely play in the WAFL if fit.

Defender Schofield will miss 2-3 weeks with a hamstring whilst exciting Forward Pocket Liam Ryan is nearing a return from that nasty ankle injury and is only 4 weeks away now.

Western Bulldogs

Bulldogs fans will be hoping Dale Morris is recalled to the Defence after he got through his VFL return match last week after a partial ACL tear in the pre season.

Most other players would need at least 2-3 weeks in the VFL before you would consider him but veteran Morris is a warrior who you could throw straight back in the fold.

Given the Dogs have been playing with an undersized backline for a while now I have no doubt they will bring Morris back in to relieve some of the pressure on Cordy and Wood.

Another key defender Adams also resumed in the VFL after a long injury lay off but I don't think the Dogs will risk bringing him back quickly as well.

I suspect he will need another run in the VFL this week.

Another veteran Dickson has recovered from his hamstring strain and is expected to return this week.

The Dogs will also be tempted to rush the crafty forward back into the seniors so don't be surprised to see him named tomorrow night.

The only other injuries of note at the kennel are to their exciting tall youngsters in Naughton and English.

Naughton will miss 1 or 2 more with that ankle strain while English's issue is a little more serious and he will miss up to a month with a foot problem.

That's it for this weeks injury report and I hope the injury gods have been good to you.

There will be bound to be a couple more surprise ones bob up when teams are announced tomorrow so be sure to check back in on our page.

Thanks for reading :)
