"If It Bleeds, We Can Kill It" - AFL Fantasy Draft Steemit League 1st Prelim

This week sees the Preliminary Finals in ths @aflfantasy Draft League, to see who gets to play off for the a shot at the title next week.

The Match Ups are

Dahmsey79 (@dahmsy79) v Piston-Broke (@sparkesy43) and Lockout (@o07) v Playing for Draft Picks (@shesasaint)

To be honest I don't care about the second game yet, and I won't until I need to know who I play in the Grand Final next week.

For now, it's all about the Prelim.

Dahmsey79 has drawn on his good fortune on draft night, and experience through the course of the season to make it this far Undefeated with an average margin of 237.75 pts

Piston-Broke has only dropped 6 from 17 matches this year, including 3 of their last 4, with an average winning margin of 80.41 pts

Last time these two sides met, the margin was a mere 23 points, with an unexpected 100 point game from Jasper Pittard proving the difference.

In 1987, the movie Predator was released, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. He didn't say a lot in that film, but his standout line was "If it bleeds, we can kill it!" . This line was famously quoted in 2001 by then Brisbane Lions coach Leigh Matthews when his young side took on an Essendon team that had been the dominant team in the league for the past three seasons. History tells us that the Lions won that day, and went on to win the first of their three consecutive Premierships. @sparkesy43 quoted it again today..... Almost poetically, our respective teams here are supporters of Brisbane (dahmsy) and Essendon (me).

So on paper, it's hard to mount a case for Dahmsy to lose, but having said that, this is Fantasy Football, and the Gods can be cruel, so either way, we'll be watching with interest to see how this unfolds......
