Many people feel they do not have anything of value to add as part of their emails when starting out. I have had emails from people that I subscribe to that send me stories about their cats. Strangely enough, while these are sometimes way out of place in the niche I have subscribed to, they do help to show the sender is human and has normal human experiences.
Imagine two scenarios with affiliate marketing (let's start with that given that's what we're mainly covering in this channel). One is you send traffic directly to your affiliate link, and that person happens to make a purchase. In doing so, they have responded to your ad, or offer and have bought the end product (woo hoo!). The good part is you made a sale, and will have an affiliate commission for your troubles. That person is then on the database of the person selling the product.
Now let's imagine another scenario...
You setup a very basic landing page (stay tuned, as I will be going over how to set these up in future), and capture an email address, and then send an offer to. Now let's say they then go on to buy the product you are promoting. What does that now look like?
You have made a sale (woo hoo!)
You have their email address and can market to them again in future. This means you can build your income into the future as a result.
One more thing to ponder....
They opt into your email list, but don't buy the product you are promoting immediately. You now have the opportunity to market to them again in future for both the current product, and any other product you choose to promote down the track. Pretty cool huh!
