I downloaded the Actifit application in November 2018. Actifit is just one of the many new and amazing applications to arrive on Steem. Actifit measures activity through activity counts based on movements of your mobile phone. If you go for a run or a jog or just jump around your house, the activity is recorded.
The application appears to work better for walking and running compared to working out in the gym or cycling, some movements are more fluent and do not appear to trigger the activity counts. It is also important to keep the application running in the background of your phone to capture your movements.
Another way to record your activity counts is through a Fitbit. I got a Fitbit in December 2018, which coincided nicely to when Actifit incorporated the Fitbit into its application. The Fitbit is a great way to record your activity counts accurately. It picks up all the smaller movements. Fitbit is a wristband and therefore stays on your body. I would often put my phone down and therefore those activities were not included in my score. With a Fitbit, that is not a problem. The Fitbit also tracks many other statistics such as your distance travelled, steps climbed, calories burned, minutes active, heart rate, and even hours of quality of sleep. Fitbit is an ideal complement to the Actifit Application.
Actifit rewards users in both Steem and in Afit tokens. I believe the number of tokens rewarded are based on the level of activity. This is a great incentive for people to be active and keep fit. I aim for over 5,000 counts a day, which is the minimum for a direct reward from Actifit. However, I will not post every day. I will post on the days I have done something a bit different or if I have achieved a high score. Recently, I have been posting my Actifit report cards after I reach 10,000 activity counts.
Actifit reports can be quite short and repetitive. For most people, their daily activities and routines do not change that much; this is one of the reasons I do not post my Actifit report card every day. Another thing I do to add variety to my Actifit reports/posts, is provide some additional information about what I have been doing, working on as well as upcoming events, posts or videos. This makes my Actifit reports more interesting and keeps my readers informed regarding recent and upcoming posts. These updates should help the discussed posts gain more attention as well as create some expectation from my audience. These updates also help me to remain motivated to consistently post. I would strongly recommend anyone using Actifit to add a little extra to the reports to make them more interesting and possibly benefit your channel.
In this post, I have included the links to all of my Actifit reports. Feel free to look at any of them. The layout of these reports have changed a little since I joined Actifit. I will also update this post frequently with new Actifit reports. Updating this post is more for my own benefit. I wanted a place I could keep all my Actifit posts together. I have three other ‘collection of works’ posts that contain all of my economics posts and previous contests. I removed Actifit posts from these collections as I post 1 or 2 Actifit posts a week, the series is perpetual and the content is very different from my economics posts.
