My Actifit Report Card: 함흥차사? 무슨 뜻이지?
'함흥차사' 란 단어 뜻 아시나요?
어디선가 들어보고 봤던 단어이지만,
정확한 의미를 모르는 단어라서 찾아봤습니다.
위키백과에 설명되어 있기로,
조선 태종 이방원이 태조의 환궁을 권유하려고 '함흥' 지역으로 보낸 '차사'를 일컫는 말이라고 합니다.
'차사'는 궁에서 보낸 사신을 말합니다.
그런데 떠난 차사가 돌아오지 않는다는 말이 퍼지면서, 한 번 간 사람이 돌아오지 않거나 소식이 없다는 뜻으로 사용된다네요.
지하로 내려갔던 스팀이 '함흥차사'일 지 아닐지는 두고 봐야겠습니다.
