My Actifit Report Card: January 30 2019 - How many episodes is 10,000 steps?

Let’s just say, hypothetically, that a person spent an entire day house-bound due to extreme cold weather, was also something of a workaholic, and basically worked sitting on her butt for 12 hours with almost no breaks, and then realized she had to get all of her 10,000 steps for the day all at once?

How many episodes of, say Grace and Frankie, might she need to watch while hopping up and down on her aerobic step box to go from less than 1,000 steps to over 10,000 steps?

This was my experiment of the day. Any guesses? Turns out it is just about an episode and a half. So, if you ever find yourself in such circumstances, you know the answer. You’re welcome!

Lol. That should be a comedy show if I might add. Great step count after sitting a long time. I was used to doing that until I faced a health challenge and the doctors recommended I stand up once in a while and move around at least for 5 minutes instead of sitting all day long. That was easy for him to say, if he only knew the stuff I needed to do. But I did take his advice ata the end of the day and it helps. Cheers.

Normally I work at a stand-up desk at my job. I also walk some distances throughout the day for meetings and to get to water. I’m working from home right now, however. Everything is convenient and I don’t have a stand-up desk! So I’ve had an unusual few days! 😊

I like my fitbit because it buzzes and flashes pink at me anytime I'm stationary for an hour. So it reminds me to at least get off my butt and stretch or something! Grace and Frankie is hilarious. I'm a whole season behind though. I usually line dance to get in my last minute steps, but you have a good idea. I might have to dig out my aerobic step box out of the garage. I never thought of using that for activity while watching TV. I could certainly do that while watching the Bulls' games because they make me furious and I get Tourette's Syndrome - so I could stomp on the box instead.

Ha ha, yes do it. The step really comes in handy. It’s too bad they have gone out of fashion. I need to turn that functionality back on so my Fitbit buzzes me. I don’t remember shutting it off.

Yes we used to have step aerobics classes all the time at the Y. Now it's all about cross-training or HIIT. I really like the stretch class though, I've gotten way too stiff in my old retired age, lol. The only bad thing is that it is on Tues and Thur mornings, and I go to line dance class on Tues morning. Can't give that up!

Oh how u wish I could get out for a walk around town! I’m in the part of the U.S. where they have closed the schools and stopped the mail due it being double digits below zero. But I do recommend this method. You get your tv watching and exercise st the same time.
