Autumn is the Time for Chestnuts

Since yesterday I've been dragging myself around a bit. Obviously an infection, as I already reported, which causes me to become less active.
Well, at least I wanted to post some nice pictures today. Three chestnuts from a horse chestnut tree, which I found today on my short walk, I put in scene and made some macro photos.
I hope you like them! As children we collected these chestnuts in big bags and sold them to the zoo in Munich. That was always a nice way to increase our pocket money.
Seit gestern schleppe ich mich ein wenig in der Gegend herum. Offenbar eine Infektion, wie ich schon berichtete, die mich wenig aktiv werden lässt.
Nun ja, zumindest wollte ich heute ein paar schöne Bilder posten. Drei Kastanien, die ich heute auf meinem kurzen Spaziergang gefunden habe, setzte ich in Szene und machte davon Makro-Aufnahmen.
Ich hoffe, sie gefallen euch! Als Kinder haben wir übrigens diese Kastanien in großen Säcken gesammelt und an den Tierpark in München verkauft. Das war immer eine schöne Aufbesserung von unserem Taschengeld.

The eadible version of chestnuts do not grow in Germany - as far as I know!
The so called horse chestnuts (photos above) are eaten by deers and wild pigs for example.
Also horses can eat them, but they shouldn't eat too much of them.
They really don't? Strange. I didn't know that.
Just in case, I am talking about castanea sativa. We have plenty of it in this part of Europe (Slovenia, Croatia, northern Italy). Some parts of Corsica, for example, Castagniccia, are famous because of it.
Yes, I know these! They are sold in super markets and also sold in winter on market-places. They are very delicious.
