I get a difference of 9/8 inches

6 6/8 inches is 54 1/8 ths. 6 6/8 minus 5 5/8 is 9/8th or 9 of 54 for 16.7 percent difference.
14 percent is the amount the moon will change in size due to the moons orbit.
In my rough estimation I see a problem. I will continue observing.
Get to 20 percent, I will think KEEP PORTLAND WEIRD.

Using the same lens from now on.

Always error in measurement. I will chose the lower of any 1/16 that is between the eighths.

SO, If I show a Moon half this size with the same telescope and lens then by using observation I can conclude that things are way foweled up.

OK this is some delicate stuff for the instruments I have. Have to look at long term averages.
