RE: shallower WATERS REWARDS POOL I HAVE CHARTED THE WATERS FOR YOU <><> AUGUST 24 , 2017

I have some real difficulty interpreting these results..
As I understand it, the reward pool is where all the upvote-payouts are being paid out from. If the reward pool shrinks, upvotes become worth less.

What I don't understand however, is what makes the reward pool go up or down?

Sort:

The reward pool increases from the daily creation of Steem ( approximately 40,000 to 50,000 every day ) that is created automatically from the programing . Approximately 75% of the new daily created Steem goes into the reward pool , some goes to pay witnesses and some goes to pay interest on Steem Power.
The pool decreases when more steem is used to make payouts than has been put into the pool . This is my basic understanding of how it works

So basically if the reward pool shrinks, everybody has been upvoting more? And if it grows, it means we have been upvoting less?
(also, thanks for that massive upvote! :) )
