RE: Back to school

in #life7 years ago

its mostly about personal choice of each one of us. how much we are willing to sacrifice for not being a wheel in the system.

i had history teacher, woman who hated history, but loved to teach. so she was questioning the sources of some of the main historical events, teaching us how its easy to manipulate and sell the new twist to the masses .i still remember her lesson about "being an general after battle", ili o "naknadnoj pameti", nemam pojma kako da prevedem :D .. it was about the possibility to adapt our brain to XVI century event, and how actually hard it is - in a way that we are different animals now, with different collective knowledge and easy access to information.
there was war raging around us, we were like 13 yr old, and we had fun mocking all the epic heroes we could find in the books. to be really good at that, we had to know the official story of course lol
she made a whole bunch of us really good at questioning things and checking out the sources.

you are right, its not about teaching kids how to think really, i guess the right words is - inspiring^

Well then I can say I had only bad teachers. Not one inspired me. :D I just took school as work I need to do...not as a personal growth time. That came from other sources....and yes...lako biti pametan posle bitke. :) I know what you mean.

History is especially confusing, since lots was built on lies (fake news). :) For example the holocaust. Still most people think that 6 mil jews died (some belive even 20 mil)...when that was not the case. So I would say...history is written by the greedy and not by the so called generals. :3 We get to emotionaly invested to really care for any facts. Or should I say, we focus on the facts we want, etc. :)
