Beer Review

Hyperlight is a 7% New England style IPA brewed by the Hudson Valley Brewery in Beacon, New York. Hudson Valley Brewery is relatively new to the scene. They released their first beers in November of 2016. Hudson Valley Brewery creates a wide array of beer types, many which are aged between four and fourteen months. The Hyperlight was the first beer I had the chance to try. It was an IPA brewed with raw wheat & malted oat and then hopped with Citra & Mosaic powder.

The Can

The Hyperlight is served in a full pint can. It's a dark blue/purple color with a starry design like stars in the night sky. It's fairly simple yet appealing at the same time. Hyperlight is faster than the speed of light... which is the only way to go if you're going to travel the stars!

The Beer

My friend Nick Capalbo shared the Hyperlight with @kirm-it and I last week. It was my first time trying a beer from the Hudson Valley Brewery and I was definitely impressed. As you can see from the juicy color, it was definitely classified as a New England style IPA. It had a hazy orange hue and a citrus aroma. At first glance, it can easily be mistaken for a glass of orange juice. It tasted delicious with a nice fluffy feel on the palate. Overall a good New England IPA. I look forward to trying more from Hudson Valley Brewery in the future.
