Travel around Crimea- 6-Meganom
One of the most mysterious places in the Crimea is rightfully Cape Meganom (https://steemit.com/photography/@zvezda51/travel-around-crimea-5 ). There are a lot of different stories and legends connected with it, and eyewitnesses say that here one can see ghosts or space plates of aliens. The ancient Greeks believed that this is where we find the entrance to Hades, the realm of the dead.
Cape Meganom - one of the warmest places in the Crimea, which is located between Koktebel and Sudak. Thanks to this, as well as a variety of picturesque landscapes, it was named among the Crimeans "local Tunisia". In the area of the cape, there are several bays, one of which - Gravernaya - gathers scuba divers. At its bottom you can see the cemetery of anchors - such a variety can not be found in any museum. Attracts tourists and the "elevator shaft" - a vertical hole in a block of stone, which starts at a depth of seven meters and has a length of 8 m. At its very bottom there are three exits through which divers leave the tunnel.
Meganom is a peninsula, a cape and a mountain in the Crimea, between Feodosia and Sudak. For Meganom is characterized by a desert landscape. Its eastern mountainous part extends into the sea, and the western lower part, hilly, with terraces and ravines. The area of the rocky peninsula is about 20 km, on it stands out the most promontory in the sea cape - Cape Meganom. Within the peninsula, there are a number of smaller capes - Rybachiy, Bugas, Tolstyi and others. Cape Meganom is formed by limestone blocks, conglomerates and sandstones, moved in the distant past along a mountain slope to the sea coast, as well as volcanic rocks. The same name as the peninsula itself is its highest point - Mount Meganom (358 m). The length of the coastline of the peninsula is about 16 km.
Meganom is one of the driest places in the Crimea. The climate is semi-desert, precipitation is very rare. Rocky shores and slopes are almost devoid of vegetation cover and therefore are actively weathered. Near the coast there are numerous stone screes and placers, in places pebbly beaches. Dry-steppe vegetation prevails, rare tree-bush thickets are found. More than 183 species of birds nest and meet during the nesting season. The climate of the Meganom peninsula is characterized by strong winds, the energy of which is used to generate electricity. There is a wind power station on the peninsula. Most of the Peninsula Meganom today is not populated, at its furthest extremity is a lighthouse.
The district Meganom has archeological monuments, some of which are connected with the history of the Greek colonization of the Northern Black Sea Coast. Meganom, like a magnet, beckons people to him again and again, in parts revealing their secrets to them. The name Meganom itself is of Greek origin and is translated as a "big house", but no particularly large settlements have been found. Until recently, on Meganom in one of the military units, there were studies of magnetic anomalies. The place to visit was closed. It is rumored that the military studied here the anomalous places of power, these studies were classified as "top secret". At this time, the research has been curtailed, although there are still two military units at the very top of Meganom.
When you are on Meganom, you feel that in such a place, perhaps any miracle, a revelation, or a phenomenon of new knowledge. Here, on Meganom, is the very dense energy of the Earth. This energy has a curative effect on man. Passes various acute and chronic diseases. There comes peace of mind. It is the astral energy of the earth in infrared waves, which attracts the energy of the sun. Therefore, there is a pleasant microclimate, and the air is permeated with bioenergetics of local plants.
А ladder to the beach is VERY long, my sister rebelled (she wants out of the tent-at once into the sea) - what, again on the road!

Thanks to your post we can see that the attractiveness of Crimea is real. Did you know that the interest of Imperial Russia in the Crimea was primarily strategic? When Catherine the Great conquered Crimea from the Ottoman Empire at the end of the eighteenth century, she looked westward in search of warm ports for the imperial fleet. Crimea offered an escape to the northern climate and a route to the rest of the world.
It is clear that Crimea is still a place to represent legends and desires, and in which various myths compete to prevail.
Thanks for the information, I'm interested.
