Sitting Fly | Macro photography
Hoverflies are a family of flies that mimic wasps, bumblebees and bees in their color in order to protect themselves from insectivorous birds. They have no sting or poison, and they feed mainly on the nectar of flowers. It is not difficult to distinguish them from a bee.
They like to sit on a flower for a long time or stroll leisurely on surfaces heated by the sun, fly abruptly and swiftly, sometimes stop in the air and hang at one point for a while.
