Lowland Streaked Tenrec

With the back of the thorns and feathers that stand upright. Many people would probably assume that "Lowland Streaked Tenrec," is one of a kind of hedgehog. But that assumption is wrong, because of the striking yellow stripes and also the long, long snout, Lowland Streaked Tenrec is clearly a different species to the hedgehog. In addition to the body length that only ranges between 16-19 cm and weight between 1 to 2 ounces, Tenrec actually entered the class of "Insectivores" (primitive mammals that consume insects).
Unlike Hedgehogs who usually live alone and are only active at night. Tenrec exactly the opposite, this cute animals can be active either day or night. These animals are also insectivores who live in groups with about 20 family members in each of their nests. The nest is usually at a depth of 15 cm and 1.5 meters wide.
The uniqueness of the other Tenrec, also exist in their thorns that can produce high frequency sounds. These sounds they usually use to simply communicate or frighten predators when they feel threatened. Tenrec is also known as the only mammal that can produce new cells in the body just by rubbing each other's bodies. Great right..
