Thanksgiving Photos.
I have never been the one preparing the traditional Thanksgiving feast —- typically - I would just show up at my parents’ house ... or the house of my significant other.
... but for reasons beyond my control - I ended up doing it this year.
I’m pretty good at snack trays...
...cracker-eye view.
I decided on a 7lb bone-in turkey breast (we only had 6 guests - and 2 of them don’t eat turkey ... one is a vegetarion - the other just hates birds. So I started it at six AM ... mind you I was still mixing cocktails at a party at 2AM...
So it was a miracle I didn’t accidentally slow cook my laundry and put the bird in the washing machine.
I liked this shot of the relish tray...
Final menu, Turkey, stuffing (with dark meat and other bits), mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, gravy, three kinds of pie (pumpkin, Dutch Apple, and pecan) — a tart of some kind - and yams that were prepared with a pound of butter and a cup of brown sugar (don’t blame me - it’s the one thing I didn’t make), and, of course, rolls.
I made enough food for 20 guests ... which means PLENTY of leftovers for the weekend. I think I’m going to make a plate now!
wow! That is a lot of food.... :D
It was far far far too much. But I only have two cooking settings: single serve —or— enough for an army.
