Frank Frazetta --- actual Frank Frazetta
I recently wrote a few bits about how much I admired the remarkably talented and absolutely peerless Frank Frazetta ... then posted a bunch of Illustrations based on his works. It occurs to me, however, that MAYBE the correct thing to do when praising an artist is to show the ARTIST's works.
I have so many favorites - I don;t even know where to start.
So I'll start here:
Death Dealer --- absolute classic!
Fire and Ice --- A Ralph Bakshi Film!
I posed with this one at the Frazetta Museum --- one of the very best places to visit on Planet Earth!
I play with this one all the time!
how cool is this???
A very classical Pen and Ink artist it must be said!
SO there you have just a FEW examples of the man's creative genius. I suggest you search out more on your own! Or - if you want to wait - I'm sure I'll re-visit this subject in the future!
Had a few of those posters on the wall at one time or another!!
Bad Ass!!
I know, right? I bought a Molly Hatchet album just for the Frazetta cover!
yeh man Frank is a boss! I bought some sketchbooks of him that are in print, quite recommended you see his rough sketches and how he sets them up, all the thumbnails for his oils etc, its quite cool stuff!
The Frazetta Museum is in East Stroudsburgh (just a few hours from where I live) I used to visit whenever I could find time --- and I would always try to pick up a folio or a print or something!
aye, yeh he's a boss :D I need to get more of his work when I find a new house that has room for an actual studio! :D
