My mum and I

It has been a while since my mum last came to visit me in Kuala Lumpur. I have moved to Kuala Lumpur for studies about 11 years back because my hometown didn't have the courses I wanted to study, which was animation. It was my first time leaving the nest alone and because I was the youngest, I was the last one to leave home leaving my parents behind back in my hometown. After a while, my parents got themselves three dogs to accompany and I could understand why. The feeling of your son/daughter leaving the nest is something most parents especially mothers will need to adapt to at a later part in life.

Every now and then, my mum make it a point to come visit me and stay for a bit longer just so that she could make sure that I was alright. On the first few years being in Kuala Lumpur grinding up my career ladder, I still had to have support by my family in terms of financially because living in the big city is expensive. The lifestyle, accommodation, and transportation are expensive. The minimum wage wasn't even near to what it can accommodate so I actually have to still live with the support from my parents for a few years even after graduating.

Right now, I am blessed to be finally able to accommodate my mum whenever she comes down. All this because they first loved me. So it's only right to do my duty as a son to pamper her back and by pamper I mean bringing her to the best steak in town, and to all the good food the big city has to offer.

Best Steak in Town

 

This is my current favourite place to have good steak. For it's price and it's quality, It's very well worth it if you're looking for 5 star steaks. I took my mum to Maria's Steakcafe in Bangsar last week and we ordered a bomb.

A 300g Black Angus, 200g Ribeye and New Zealand Lamb cutlets.

We didn't go for the wagyu or Kobe this time because the last time we came, the black angus was what got us rating this the best steak in town. It was still up to par so let me flood you with more food photos from here on out.

Homecook Cookery

The steak was good but I personally think that the best food in town is none other than home cook food by the mum. Just the basic spam, prawns & vegetable and white radish soup is already enough for me. Still reminds me of home and it takes me back to the days whenever I was still in high school. Coming back from sports and the extra-curriculum activities I used to go to, my mum would prep dinner just in time for the family. She would prepare a simple meal but it is always a satisfying one.

And of course, other food takes from the meals we both shared together over this week. I'm blessed to be able to afford to have good food, a good place to live in, a good career and life in general. I wouldn't be here without my mum and I owe it all to her, who gives herself so selflessly.
