How do you cope?

I know this is rarely talked about how people cope with their stresses and what helps them through those times. Recently, I have been pretty stressed out at work because my team and I have to swallow some trash that people couldn't finish and we are called in as a 'swat team'. You know when the swat is at your door, nothing is ever good. More like a last-minute resort kind of thing.

For me, I deal with my stresses differently. If it is about work, I tend to relieve myself by playing video games or watching my favourite youtube videos. If it's about people, I cut myself off these people for awhile, until I get better.

For this contest, I would like to know what stresses you out and how do you cope with these stresses? This could be helpful to others who are in their own dilemma.

Everything has a reason to be and to act in our lives. That is why stress has been part of us all our lives, only when we are older it becomes present. We can find it when we have problems, we are tired, an illness, an important situation to face, the loss of a loved one, loneliness, lack of attention or when we do not get what we want, that is why it is important first to know where our stress generated during the week comes from in order to work on it. School and love relationships also alert us to constant stress situations, the day to day is really a chaos and generates a terrible stress (in my particular case), then once we detect it we must work personally in that problem to leave strengthened and above all have patience to carry the situation.

Everyone knows me and knows that I am a lover of crafts, I have been sharing my work with others for 8 years and I love it. Weaving, embroidering, sewing, cooking, recycling, drawing, writing, doing all these things entertains me, keeps me busy and therefore does not give me a chance to be worried. In this corner of my house I am the woman of the world, there I make my designs, I invent, it is my sanctuary. Everything is always very tidy, the wools in their drawers, the fabrics in their boxes, the threads and the machines protected from dust.

I live a fairly peaceful life back in the forest where I worked part-time in the "Play and Exploration" program with Pre-Ks. I love my work but they tried to up the numbers of children in the classroom to 20 and this would be a little over whelming with the energy levels being very high (these are 3 and 4 year olds I'm working with). I would feel stressed at the end of the day but luckily we had a good co-coordinator who went to bat for us and got the numbers down plus I got some real good teachers to work with and I began to notice I wasn't stressed at the end of the day.It is when I'm given too much responsibility that I notice the stress levels rising.

For those situations it was arriving back home where I had a long lane to walk down through the forest to get to my house. This allowed me to unwind and stuff from the day would just kind of fall away.

Stress is an emotion or emotional state that generates physical tension. It can come from any situation or thought that generates negative emotions such as frustration, anger, fear, anxiety. In small doses, stress can be positive, such as when it helps us avoid danger or fulfill our purposes, like that little scare we get in our chest when we feel exposed. However, when stress goes from a one-off emotion to a recurring one, it can damage our health.

In my case, I suffer from different forms of stress. However, I have learned to deal with it after having been subjected to all kinds of psychosomatic illnesses, meriting psychiatric treatment for some time. Today, I can say that I can see the dust coming from afar from the anxiety-ridden horses thrown by different stressors, and I can turn away from being run over.

So, what stresses me out 🤔 I think I'm pretty much the same as everyone else; money, love, health, parents, menopause, kids health, kids education, kids education fund and more kids stress topics... The list just doesn't end but then again, some causes less stress than others and at certain moment of time, some weighs more than the other. At the end, it's how we manage the stress.

These are stressful times. The impact on society from COVID-19 is like nothing most of us have seen or experienced in our lifetimes. I would like to say that I have handled it gracefully. But like everyone, I’ve found myself dwelling on the notion that we may be heading for doomsday, or at least the end of all we know as “normal” today. A year ago at this time, my kids were out on ballfields and every night I was there shivering under a blanket and watching their games and eating yet another greasy ballpark hot dog. Good times. Now we’re all housebound, enjoying a home cooked meal together every night… warm and cozy... Oh wait, I lost my thread.

I have always been characterized by being someone with a strong character and sometimes a bit strict, disorderly but strict, and with a tendency to stress very easily, which has brought some health problems into my life. I remember when I started working in a hardware store about 7 years ago, as a security manager, I think that until the moment of my life this has been the most stressful thing I have experienced from the point of view of work, customers and even workers stealing and having to deal with that, plus the state security forces, the owners of the company, we went through a time when we had little staff and sometimes I had to cover some of their positions to not stop the operation of the store. In just 5 months I was having my first hypertensive crisis, I felt like I was going to die.

When it comes to dealing with stress I am a huge sucker. Anytime, I am stressed out I'm usually frustrated giving out that negative energy to others. Last year was my final year at school. And it was indeed a hectic period for me, had a stressful experience that will never leave my memory. At times I do come back from school between the hours of 8pm to 10pm, after classes, I am to visit the lab for my project practical work.

The concern that people often submit to, due to the problems they may be facing, is generally bigger on their mind than outside it; however, it is in our hands to allow those recurring thoughts to affect our mental and physical health.

My life has always been immersed in my work (both in Venezuela and abroad) and at home. I really like being indoors and at the same time doing something productive. Among the productive things I do, is reading a good personal growth book, making designs for home construction, making drafts to post on Hive or Steem (I'm still on both chains), or enjoying a good action or cartoon movie.

I mainly tend to get stressed by stress. What I mean by that, is that whenever I recognize something has caused me to be stressed, that knowledge alone actually increases the stress I experience for a time after an incident; at least until I can put it out of my thoughts.

I used to love to drive. I’ve owned some sweet rides. Now, driving is one of my least favorite things to do. In fact, I hate it. Sometimes I wonder if the problems I have with driving-related stress is due to my getting older... and maybe I’m crankier. I don’t think that has anything to do with it, however.

We are experiencing moments of great tension, which I consider to be a great test that serves us to reflect on various aspects that we have not seen internally due to the dynamics of life that we are currently experiencing. Personally I will say stress has to do with over working one's self,there are different kinds of stress, could be emotional, psychological, physical etc.

Sometimes you can't escape being stressed,even when you want to,most times,your schedule will not let you be.

I don't like getting myself worked up,so what I do to prevent stress or deal with it is to plan myself properly starting from the week.
