Pay It Forward Curation Contest - Week 48
Here is my entry of 2 featured bloggers in week 48 of Pay It Forward curation contest organized and promoted by @pifc.
1. @rootsofkarate
My first featured author this week is Jordan aka @rootsofkarate. He is karate teacher and art lover, who currently lives in Seattle, WA. He was recently introduced to Steemit by his good friend @kommienezuspadt and has posted a very nice #introduceyourself story as his breakthrough post in the blockchain.

My name is Jordan. I heard about Steemit through my buddy @kommienezuspadt. We grew up in Northeastern Pennsylvania (think TV's The Office). We both used our various talents to break out and create our own careers. We connect every decade or so to talk about art, life, relationships, comics, business, and growing up in our weird hometown.

2. @trang
My second featured author in this week's contest is @trang, who posted a great story including an awesome @dtube video of the trip she and @dhimmel made to Mauna Kea, a dormant volcano on the island of Hawaii, which happens to be the highest volcano in the world.

Another hike @dhimmel and I did after attending the Pacific Symposium on Biocomputing in Hawai'i #PSB2019. This time, with some assistance, we climbed to the top of the highest volcano in the world, Mauna Kea. I was nervous to start this hike because we had been just at sea level the day before. Lucky for us, the 250 mg of acetazolamide consumed within 24 hours before the hike helped reduce some elevation sickness symptoms. At 10a, we started hiking from the visitor center at 9000 ft, to which our rented Nissan Versa had barely made it due to low oxygen level for combustion at high elevation.
