Sending a large file to a friend is a complex task. Sending limits, unencrypted file,...

Indeed, if you ever want to send a heavy enough file to someone, you can't use email, because the size of attachments is limited and in the cloud there is a limit, and you have to create permissions,... for your friend to access your file. And the file is sent in plain text, i. e. cloud servers can easily access your files as a malicious hacker.

Fortunately, a new service offered by Mozilla, Firefox Send, allows you to send your files securely, with a limit of 20 GB. Before being sent to Mozilla's servers, the file is encrypted, which provides additional security. Then simply send a download link generated by the service. Once downloaded, it is removed from the servers, and that's a big positive point in terms of privacy. Small information: If the file is not downloaded, it is deleted from the servers after 24 hours. The service works with all browsers, provided that you do not use a middle-age browser; -)

Send a file

1- First of all, go to https://send.firefox.com/.

2 - Click the Choose a file to send button.

3 - Select the file to send and click Open.

4 - The file is being sent, it may take more or less time depending on its size or your internet connection.

5 - Firefox Send gives you the download link. Send it to whomever you want, but be careful not to send it to more than one person (it can only be downloaded once)
