Daily sketch - working on a story

Hello Steemians!

Here I am, with something more than drawings this time. I hope you'll like this. :)

Intro

I'm working on a new project of mine. I think it's pretty big thing for me but I want to tackle it. I think I'm ready. I wanted to do it for quite some time but I was held down by, well, ME! I didn't believe that any of the stories I had thought of at the time was interesting for anyone else to read. Now, after I got inspired few days ago by various artists, movies and shows. It was an explosion of ideas in my mind and I was frantically putting as much of them as I could remember on paper. I got a lot of them and I'm so excited about that. I have a goal and I wanted it to be a d&d campaign at first, but as I don't really play anymore - there is lack of players - I decided to make a story out of it. I'm setting it up as an adventure story set in a fantasy setting of mine, my own creation. And finally I think I have something worthy of sharing.

I'll start with this image, its short description and intro to my story:

The image is pretty rough but the main idea is here. It could be a bit darker to emphasize the night or dawn but I did it like this. I may change it later. I'll think of something. I finished drawing this after I got my story and ideas on paper. I'm so excited about it. :)

As he walked outside like he did every evening for the last two years, his breath was taken away by the sight he caught. Beautiful light of the moon sparkling on the water in the distance. Or, more precisely, the lack of light reflecting from the water, caused by something there. He squinted his eyes and leaned forward a little, as it would help him see better.

"Yup, there it is."

Smile widened across his lips as he realized the possibilities. Moon's reflection was broken, halved by shadow and they were going that way.

"Finally!"

He watched the moon rising, sipping his drink. His mind toying with idea of future. He already had several plans. Moments later there was cheering and laughter. They were free. They were finally free.

The idea

Anyways :)
The idea I have is to make a graphic novel out of that story, or a comic (web comic). I will have to try and present the story the best I can and I need to create all the art for it. I need for the story to grow, evolve and I feel the urge to complete it. It's not gonna be easy but it's something I'm willing to do. It's something I'm excited to try and overcome.

Also crude and pretty quick sketch made to put the ideas on paper. I've envisioned these things, beetles, as crude machines. They are somewhat bulky, clunky but very useful. Only downside to them is their very limited range. This one too was drawn after I got my first few pages done.

As noon passed, that lonely island in the distance was only few miles away. Four scouts were cranking up their beetles. Those contraptions were pretty crude and made for short bursts of flight. They could not fly more than 2 or 3 miles at most, but it was enough for this occasion. All the riders were lightweight, slim and pretty short. They were smallest pilots in the group and among the best. Beetles were dangerous to fly but they were fast. Their speed was intoxicating. Only trick to flying one was not to run out of time and crash. You need the feel for timing and you got to learn fast or you'll break every bone in your body.

Kraaaak! The first beetle jumped into the air and darted towards the horizon as the crowd cheered. Moments later there was a second and a third clacking roar as they spun up and flew away. There was only one left. The youngest of the bunch. With a grin on his face he cranked his pedal and his beetle lunged into the air. He darted forward and just as he reached the edge, he swooped down towards the sea. He was picking up speed fast overtaking the three other riders. The rest watched and cheered as four of them raced.

Conclusion

Now that I've shared this idea with you, I'm gonna let you know that you can expect first images soon. I still have no idea in what style I'll draw these. I'll have to do my best. I fear it will have to be pretty simple (as I'm still new to this) and I'll grow in complexity (if I choose so) in the future.
