Color Challenge: Monday Red - Koenig Leopold
Well, that was unexpected. No previous knowledge of the music or style of viennese combo „Koenigleopold“ left me quite stumped due to the randomness of what I had just witnessed after their concert in Flex on the 30.4.2014.

About the Subject:
It was an eclectic mix of hip hop, electronic and rock and roll coupled with bizarre elements like dialect rapping, an assault by Pikachu on stage and broken instruments. Lukas König and Leo Riegler seamlessly switched places and instruments during the show, making every song unique and unpredictable. They were supported with awesome visuals and spitting rhymes by young rapper MC Rhine who shined as one of the highlights of the evening.
These guys clearly „don’t give a f*ck“, apparent so in their choice of outfits, beer bellies, presentation and music. I mean that in a good way. Their show is as much concert as it is an exericise in live Dadaism, definitely worth checking out. The packed Flex crowd seemed supremely entertained by the awesome weirdness coming off the stage and so was I.

Flex is a nightclub in Vienna. It is located between underground station Schottenring and Augartenbrücke. Many international and Austrian music acts and DJs, such as Pete Doherty, Juliette and the Licks and Arcade Fire, have performed in Flex. There have been hundreds of visits from drum and bass DJs like: Pendulum, High Contrast, DJ Marky, Aphrodite, Patifee, DJ Hype, Logistics, Leopoi, and others. According to the annual rating of German music magazine Spex Flex has been among the best nightclubs in Europe for years. The soundsystem is also widely considered one of the best.

Coolioooo! I went to Flex to see Steve Rachmad a couple of years ago I thinkon my first trip back to Europe. He is a dear friend I booked for Bali before and he was great but I was a bit disappointed about the condition of this place I heard so much about when I lived in Asia. It feels run down IMO.....I like that mysterious artist you described.
Some would say that because it's run down is what makes it Flex in the first place. A little bit of grime here and there can be a good thing. They've worked on it a lot in the past couple of years though. The whole area around the canal is much more alive now. I suggest the "Hafenkneipe" in the summer which is a bit of ways walk down the river in the direction of Hundertwasserhaus.

Beautiful photo! Has a mysterious vibe to it and seems to be a perfect fit for what you describe the show left you feeling. I love those moments in time where your kind of left scratching your head but in a good way! haha, great share!
Thanks @fitnessnerd! Working this kind of job those kind of moments came more frequently than expected, this was a particularily off-beat gig though.
Sometimes when taking a picture the setting and lighting of the room and the people in it do most of the work for you. Just figuring out where to stand with your camera between all those people...that's the hard part :P
