Luke 14:28
KJV:For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

AMP:For which of you, wishing to build a farm building, does not first sit down and calculate the cost [to see] whether he has sufficient means to finish it?

People have the tendency to rush into starting things without quality preparation. Many have acted rashly in impatience and presumption and ended up losing great destiny opportunities.

Whatever intention you had this year and intentions you have for the next year, The Bible tells us to SIT DOWN FIRST.

How do we sit down?

• Sit down in DEVOTION. Sit down in prayer and study of God's word. This is how we receive God's power and backup for success in life. Never get too busy to spend time daily with God in prayer, worship and study of the word.

This was the lifestyle of men that made it with God. Devotion will prepare and equip you with strength to succeed.....They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall Mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31)

• Sit down in MEDITATION. Sit down and think things through with God. To come out with clear directions from God, you must engage quiet meditation before God. "For thus saith the Lord God....in returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength..." (Isaiah 30:15).

Conclusion

God is ready and waiting to show you the way forward but you must sit down in quality prayer, study and meditation. Lay all your goals and ideas before God, and He will give the direction and strength you need to go on.
