The punch line

More illustration than photography. But a photograph it is, wonderfully entangling human subjects and their environment. The image unfolds in layers—we see the silhouettes first, seemingly as shadows, but upon closer inspection we find the subjects behind the glass, their likenesses projected by the sun from behind.
