Tutorial: How to Choose the Github Repository

This is a simple tutorial on how to choose the Github repository for your post. New contributors of the site might got confused on choosing the right Github repository for their contributions. Choosing the incorrect Github repository can result to lost of your post or moderators of the Utopian.io might not be able to view and review it.

When writing or contributing a new post in Utopian.io, you will going to choose which category you would like to write. Currently, there are 12 categories available where you can contribute for various open source projects/sites.

After understanding the rules in the category that you chose, you will need to confirm it in order to proceed for your contribution.

You will be directed to the "write" page of the site and you will see a "Browse Github Repositories".

Repository can be defined as a digital storage or directory where one can access the projects, files, related to it and all the other versions of the files.

It is a central space where all the data are maintained and stored. A repository can also be defined as a space where several files or databases are located for distribution/allocation over a network.

The repository should be according to which site or project your contribution is intended. For example, when you are writing a tutorial on how to use the Utopian.io or ideas, designs and translations fof the site, the repository that you should choose is Utopian.io.

When you type in the box and hit enter, there will be several repositories that you can choose from. Choose the most appropriate repository for your post.

As a member of Steemit, I have written several suggestions/ideas for the site and the correct Github repository to use is steemit/condenser.
