The boat tradisional
Talking about a traditional wooden boat as part of Indonesia's maritime heritage ... it has been a long and lasting journey and a journey now and in the future. It's our spirit from the beginning. Schoon phinisi (pinisi, pinissi, or phiniq), a pole vessel sailing ship, is one of Indonesia's most famous traditional wooden sailing vessels, originating from South Sulawesi, and became the foot print for the Indonesian archipelago of maritime heritage journeys. Once used and still used as cargo ships carrying goods within the vast archipelago, the phinisi now also take part as a yacht charter for voyaging businesses in the magnificent Indonesian archipelago as well as neighboring Southeast Asian nations, catering marine tourism activities. Most were built using the same method that has been used for generations, built by the people of South Sulawesi (ethnic Konjo, Bugis, Makassar and Mandar). It is part of their tradition and their pride. Building a traditional phinisi wooden boat is their way of life, the skills they mastered on. We have worked with traditional phinisi ship builders who are well known and respected Indonesian timber from South Sulawesi (operating both in South Sulawesi and Kalimantan) for many years. We have achieved mutual understanding that enables us to cooperate with respect, where tradition meets the latest innovations. What a joy! .. written by
