The Rest (original poetry)
The Rest
and it marches in place
a static up down
up down -
it is the spire of existence
the lost lustre of time
what is shoved into corners
and swept out of minds
it starts in a rush
and collapses with sighs -
but it is always the thing
that we really mean
that we leave
to the end
to the rest
