Information is power
Information is power, and for many centuries information has been passed down from one
generation to the other through writing. Historically, writing began in China, Mesopotamia, and
Egypt. Anyway, different forms of writing form the part of heritage and this heritage has
evolved numerous times and has lasted the test of time.
In as much as writing media are different today, the central idea behind it is communication.
However, writing has even become a profession to some people and through the creative
application of it, a lot of nations have received accolades. For instance Nigeria, through the
creative writings of Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, Helon Habila and so on. Young people also
communicate their emotions through writing. We remember times when we wrote love letter
to that crush in class. In the 21 st century, writing has gone digital, we now know of blogging and
content writing for websites.
So, whether on a tablet of stone or a tablet of phone; poetry or prose; or unimaginative, writing
still holds the same purpose, passing information or knowledge.
As your quote points out, information isn't knowledge.
Knowing what to do with the information that you have allows you to have power.
Its great to learn, cause knowledge is power.
Thanks for the post.
