Let's go exploring #1. Alton towers. Beyond the thrills

When you first read the title of my blog, what images spring to mind?? Anything like this?

Alton Towers is nestled sympathetically in the heart of The Staffordshire Moorlands. Once home to The Earl Of Shrewsbury, Alton Towers is home to more than just fast rides. With the famous Grade 2 listed towers, owners The Merlin Entertainment Group are committed to the restoration of these immense buildings.

There is also a commitment to the maintenance of the extensive gardens including the conservation of the thousands of trees located on the site.... The gardens are absolutely stunning, each tree numbered with metal plaques to aid the conservation project.

I hope you like my little tour of Alton Towers. All of the photographs are my own. I could spend a day just getting lost in the gardens.... A real hidden gem!!!
