Hydroponics is just a bad idea. Soil is what plants need and its much more complicated than a few nutrients. The microbiome in the soil is necessary for plants to grow correctly. Hydroponics is like a basement locked neckbeard living on redbull and vitamins.
All of the weed growers that I've consulted for that listened and went back to soil have had way more success with Nature's plan than with any man made systems.
That's true what you say but weed growers sometimes what to get the plants to flower super quick and hydro is how you do that. Nutrients get absorbed faster to the roots.
I have a grow journal here with a 3 updates so far in case want to check it out!
I love cannabis but am at least slightly disgusted by those that commercialize it. It hurts the product, funds CIA/DEA bullshit, empowers psychopaths by contributing to the monetary economy, bankrupts addicts, monocrop outdoor grows trash Nature, chemicals, molds, and on and on.
I hope to inspire cannabis permaculture someday when the world is more ready.
Also, flowering time is mainly dependent upon the strain and the lighting. Hydro just bulks them up a bit faster but the buds are usually not as dense.
I use LED full spectrum lights from a company called Kind LED. They are real good and produce low heat.
I do Hydro because I like it, soil is usually a bit more dirty and more bugs. I have a couple of outdoor plants that I don't give them nutrients and they are just fine!
I work with a horticulture professor specializing in strawberries and tomatoes. I'm forwarding this on to him to ask him why he thinks this was such a failure.
