What kind of dapps should be expected to be succesful during the first stage of EOS as a live blockchain?

      EOS blockchain will be born soon. It will be the first system able to run scalable decentralized applications. Many of us would love to see mainstream decentralized solutions for transport, housing, cloud storage and so on. However this won’t happen overnight. It might take some time to develop those, and specially gain the market. So a proper question would be “what is the next step?”. What would be a useful dapp that can be succesful on the first stage? Even a couple of simple succesful dapps could confer a lot of power on EOS.

      Certainly, those concepts which are already working are likely to have a version running on EOS: social networks similar to Steem, decentralized exchange like Bitshares (e.g. EOSfinex), light client wallets like Metamask. Hopefully, EOS storage will be working soon, and that might be an amazing milestone in the blockchain history. But ok, what new ideas should we develop?

      I think that a guiding principle for finding answers to this question is: “Ethereum is to Bitcoin what EOS is to Steem”. Even though EOS will probably be much more than that, the point is that while Ethereum was useful to create your own token, EOS might be useful to create all kinds of decentralized social networks with their own tokens. So, for example, one could think of a network oriented to questions and answers (like Quora or Stack Overflow).

      One example that I want to discuss with more detail is the case of real estate. It would be relatively simple to create a protocol or dapp able to only publish and search real estate articles. Having tokens would give you the right to publish your property with pictures (plus of course location, contact data and so on). The reasons why I think that this should be succesful without much trouble is rooted on my knowledge of the market in Latin America, where leading real estate sites charge you large amounts for publishing. When people want to sell their house, they are eager to publish it everywhere, but currently there is no good place really. EOS would be able to offer this service for free at the beginning, and it would be very cheap once adopted: you can sell your tokens after selling the product. So maybe here we have an interesting real world dapp.
