Receiving power with a purpose

"But you will receive power, when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. And having said these things, when they saw it, he was taken up, and a cloud received him from his eyes. And while they were standing with their eyes fixed on the sky, while he was going away, behold, two men stood beside them in white garments, and they said to them, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up to heaven? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you to heaven, will come as you have seen him go to heaven. Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mountain called Olivar, which is near Jerusalem, on the way to a Sabbath. "Acts 1: 8-12

During the time that Jesus was on earth, he prepared his disciples so that they could continue with the vision with which the Father had sent him. Many times, we can not understand that Jesus came to this earth, among many things, to be a model of how to live with the presence of God in our lives, and continue with his legacy. Jesus wanted his disciples to have the experience of the Holy Spirit so that they would have security, and be equipped to fulfill the mission that the Lord had given them. Each one of them was baptized in the Holy Spirit, and the idea that Jesus had was for them to have an experience similar to what he had had, so that, when they were baptized, in them there could be security of victory, and that God He was present in their lives as the Master had been. The power they were going to receive had a purpose. One of the purposes was that they could be witnesses.

Those angels told the disciples how important it was that they stop looking at the sky and go to the place where God had commanded them. When something is happening in the place where we are, this captures our attention; For example, when a child sees something for the first time in his life, his eyes remain attentive and fixed in what they are appreciating. That's exactly what happened with the disciples. In addition, they were overwhelmed with the mission that Jesus had given them; It must have taken them a few minutes to understand what was happening. They were trying to assimilate that Jesus was not going to be with them anymore; and, what would happen next time a sick person had to be healed? Staying enthralled is an emotional and spiritual attitude that many of us experience when certain events occur in life that leave them looking at the air without knowing what to do. Maybe very good things leave us in this state, surprised by how great it has been a blessing. Many times, an angel has to come to get our attention, and let us know that it was time to move. However large or impressive that moment may have been, the time of being enraptured was over, and God had two angels there to let the disciples know they had to move. We have to thank God for the messengers he sends to our lives; surely someone has given you a word or message at the moment you needed it. God tells you that the time has come to move, to lean forward, and to put your hands on the plow. It is time for you to do everything that God has commanded you, and understand at this time that, if God is going to do something before you, it is that your spirit wakes up so you can get out of being amazed and can move.

"... they came to the sepulcher, bringing the aromatic spices they had prepared, and some other women with them. And they found the stone removed from the tomb; and entering, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. It happened that when they were perplexed by this, behold, two men stood beside them in shining garments; And as they were afraid, and lowered their faces to the ground, they said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen. "Luke 24: 1-6

The women arrive there with the best intention, but the stone had been removed. They were ready to do what they had arranged in their hearts, but God changed their plans. When they found that they could not do what they planned, because there was no body there, they were perplexed, they did not know what they had to do. Then, God also sent them two angels who gave them instructions. In those moments when we have had expectations of life, or we have gone to places to look for things, and we have touched doors with the confidence that God is going with us, but what we are waiting for does not happen, and we are left with an open mouth and without plans, God sends angels to your life to get you out of spiritual inertia. You have reached places, and you have found empty tombs, and from that moment you have done absolutely nothing. There are people who have plans, businesses, marriages, and incomplete lives, because there came a time when they found themselves face to face with an empty tomb, and they did not know what else to do. What they do is they stay enchanted, crying, lamenting, but you have to understand today that God has sent someone to tell you to wake up, that the time of inertia is over, and that the time has come to open your eyes and move forward .

Look no further than the dead to the one who lives. God has given you power, but He has given it to you with mission, and there is something He is waiting for you to do.
