Cadillac Leather (Instrumental)

Some of you may recognize this sample as "that sample from that Tribe song," as a few of my friends have put it. Yes, this is the same sample from 'Electric Relaxation' by A Tribe Called Quest. It's 'Mystic Brew' by Ronnie Foster, but instead of just looping it I tried to make it distinctly my own. Tribe already did about as good a job as anyone could hope to do in terms of making a beat out of it, but I forged my own path by building the whole thing from the bottom up, one note at a time. Even the bass loops are played one note at a time, in a totally different manner from the original. In doing so I feel like I was able to preserve a familiar vibe, while also making something totally new, which is always my goal. I hope you dig it!
